Discover how RUSKO has been transforming waste into resources since 2017 in Bologna with the Repair Cafè: events where broken objects are repaired together, promoting the circular economy and a more sustainable future

In Bologna, the RUSKO Association – Riparo Uso Scambio Comunitario, in collaboration with the Repair Cafè International Foundation, organizes Repair Cafè, periodic and itinerant events where people can bring their broken objects and repair them together with expert volunteers. These meetings not only help reduce waste, but also promote sustainability and social cohesion.

How do they work?
Repair Cafés are open to everyone and are free. Participants bring their items to be repaired and, with the help of volunteers, learn how to fix them. You can bring electrical and electronic devices, bicycles, clothing, jewelry, accessories, tools and equipment of various types.

The events take place in various neighborhoods of Bologna, using spaces made available by local partners such as schools, social centers and parishes.

The RUSKO association, in collaboration with the Repair Cafè International Foundation, coordinates these events and takes care of finding volunteers, equipment and collaborations with local authorities to ensure the success of the initiatives.

Can I do this too?
Repair Cafés can easily be replicated in other cities. All you need is a group of motivated volunteers, a meeting space and the desire to contribute to environmental sustainability. RUSKO's experience shows that with a little organization and collaboration, it is possible to create a significant positive impact.
