The Green Economy Festival in Parma kicks off today, a three-day event dedicated to sustainability and the green economy. Since 2011, the Festival has promoted constructive discussion between professionals, entrepreneurs, institutions and representatives of the scientific and cultural world to inspire significant changes towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
The event is divided into two parts: a tour to discover the “Factories of Sustainability”, where fifty Italian companies, located throughout the country, open their doors to visitors to show their sustainable practices, and the Festival in Parma where topics related to construction, infrastructure, smart cities, energy, food and sustainable fashion are addressed.
The festival program includes a series of conferences, workshops and guided tours. This year's speakers include Luca Mercalli , climatologist and president of the Italian Meteorological Society, who will speak on Friday, March 28 (9:00 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.) and Stefano Mancuso , plant neurobiologist, who will speak on Saturday, March 29 (12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.) .
The program of this edition is particularly rich and includes, among others:
- Opening conference: "The pragmatic way to sustainability" with speeches by industry experts (Friday 28 March, 10:30 - 13:00).
- Workshop on Regenerative Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Farming Practices (Friday, March 28, 3:00 - 4:15 p.m.).
- Round table on possible solutions for the energy transition (Saturday 29 March, 11:30 - 12:45).
- Debate on sustainable mobility (Saturday 29 March, 10 - 11.15).
- Event dedicated to the food of the future and the plant-based alternative (Saturday 29 March, 11:30 - 12:45.

For those who cannot attend in person, the festival will also be broadcast live on the official website, allowing a wider audience to follow the events and conferences.
The event will end on March 30 with a closing ceremony on environmental and social sustainability.
